We all know space is at a premium in London but converting an old red telephone box into a salad bar is a first.
It comes from the genius folks at Spier’s Salads who have taken the phone box and created a tiny salad shop in Bloomsbury Square in Holborn.
There’s a choice of five every day depending on the season and the salads on offer are a lot more than the usual pile of green leaves.
Set up in 2011, the whole idea behind Spier’s Salads is reinventing our thoughts on salads and healthy eating.
The menu changes daily but you can expect something along the lines of..
- Roasted chicken with sumac, pomegranate molasses, chilli and sesame seeds (other ingredients: garlic, tomato puree and a pinch of salt
- Baked salmon (other ingredients: dill, lemon, pinch of salt and pepper)
- Spicy lentils spinach and radish (other ingredients: sesame oil, soy sauce, chilli, lime juice, honey)
It’s not just telephone box salads either, they’ll come to your office and can cater for events of up to 400 people.
