As if you hadn’t noticed, next week we’ll all be going to the polls to vote to stay IN the European Union, right?
But for those still on the shelf about what to vote (IN IN IN) the lovely people of France are sending croissants to Kings Cross St Pancras station next Wednesday (22nd) to help you make the right decision.
A group of friendly French people are extending ‘a hand of friendship and solidarity across the Channel’ by bringing hundreds of freshly baked croissants to Londoners through Operation Croissant.
It was started when a friend of the organisers – who lives in London – admitted she was still undecided about which way to vote. When asked if she would vote ‘in’ if her friend hand delivered her a croissant from Paris, the answer was yes and Operation Croissant was formed.
Each croissant will have a message attached to it from a Parisian – this could be something personal, a story about why they think Britain should stay or maybe just a friendly hello.
If you want to get involved you can forward the message onto any French friends you have and they can send their message to: firstname.lastname@example.org
It’s not a grand political message – it’s simply an act of breaking bread and it’s one of the best I’ve seen so far.
If you know of other going on across London (or the UK) please let me know (Hi@bakesfromahackneykitchen.com).
